This story comes via Gawker and is tres, tres juicy.

Sexual Harassment King of the World, Dov CharneySexual Harassment King of the World, Dov CharneyThe man pictured here is the CEO of American Apparel. According to an email sent to Gawker by an American Apparel employee, Dov Charney has been on the rampage to make sure that his employees all match up to his high expectations. Nope, he is not giving out performance bonuses per se; this dude has been evaluating his employees based on their "photographs" to make sure that they are "good enough-looking" to work at his stores.

The emailer, who is anonymous, put it pretty bluntly; Dov Charney "wants to weed out the ugly people".

Some might say, by his own definition, that Dov Charney himself should not be allowed to set foot in his own store. At least, not what I can tell from this particular picture anyway.

Gawker is predicting lawsuits on the horizon if this proves to be true. It won't be the first time that Dov Charney has been involved in a sexual harassment lawsuit. In fact, he has been in trouble for walking around in his underwear during work. Can we say gross? How would you like to see this man in his underwear during work?

In Jane magazine, Dov said, "I’m not saying I want to screw all the girls at work,” he said “But if I fall in love at work it’s going to be beautiful and sexual.”

He willingly admits that he "drops his pants to show off his new products". Check out the great deposition scoop here.

His wish for having sexual relations with an employee might just be the reason he has decided to have only the beautiful people work for him. So, if you are an American Apparel employee, my suggestion to you is get a bad photograph of yourself taken and get a lawyer quickly. Sue the bastard and maybe you will earn a little more cash than you would have at what is probably a sucky job anyways.

Of course, this is not the only store to have beauty standard policies. A few years ago, my friend was walking around on campus and got offered a job on the spot. Not with American Apparel, but with Ambercrombie and Fitch, who also have a similar reputation for hiring the only the beautiful among us. And, yes, the guy who  was hired was an extremely good-looking young man. Think about it. Have you ever seen an ugly salesperson at Ambercrombie & Fitch?
