Earlier I wrote about the CEO of American Apparel Dov Charney who put out a call for pics of women’s butts; today, I came across this inspirational story of one woman who was laid off from her job and came up with an intriguing way to earn herself some extra cash. Instead of selling her body on the streets, Tina Beznec put her butt up for auction on a New Zealand (dating) auction site.

Tina Beznec’s ad read: "Your tattoo on my bum!" and was accompanied by a picture of her derriere. Someone must have thought that Tina Beznec’s ass was tattoo-worthy because the auction closed at nearly $10,000 Kiwi. 

When I first got separated from my husband last spring, one of my friends suggested that I read “How Stella Got Her Groove Back” as inspiration for how to feel better about my separation and divorce. I told her that that particular book might not be the best inspiration for me in my brand new life as a single woman. 

The book and movie, as you probably already know, is the loosely-based story of author Terry McMillan who went to Jamaica and met a much younger man whom she later married. Oprah had McMillan and her husband on the show several years later; McMillan and her soon-to-ex husband revealed that he was gay. He defended keeping it a secret from McMillan by explaining that Jamaican culture was so conservative that he might not have known about his true sexuality. 

I think it’s probably likelier that McMillan’s husband knew enough about her to know that he had a money ticket and was prepared to use his youth and good looks to snag himself a rich wife. 

I chose not to go the tropical vacation route, mostly because I don’t enjoy traveling by myself, but partially because I wanted to spend some more time exploring my own city, state, and country. 

The word is already out. Sex and orgasms are good for you, which is good news for those of you having lots of sex and orgasms. For others trying to determine “how to organize your sex life”--Slate’s expression, not mine-- it might be important to factor in which kinds of sex are the most beneficial. 

We all want to be healthy, right? 

How much do men think about sex per day? Is it every seven seconds as was previously reported? Is it even more? Are all men sex-crazed lunatics or is that just wishful thinking on my part?



The answers according to a recent sex study at Ohio State University : Less than you think, no, no, and maybe. The average man thinks about sex nineteen times per day, which isn’t even close to the widely-reported every seven seconds. But just because he’s not thinking about sex all day doesn’t mean the average man isn’t a sex-crazed lunatic.
