Have you ever heard of the saying….”Work hard, play hard?” I am sure we all have at some point in our life. I believe in working hard….and playing hard too. I have worked numerous jobs in the past after graduating from high school. The reason why I had so many jobs was because I was not exactly sure on the right career pathway intended for me during my first year of college. With changing my college “major” so many times, I thought it would be best to take a short “break,” and really work some odd, minimum-wage jobs to help me figure out what I “liked” and “disliked.” And boy….did it really paid off. I am so proud I took that major “risk” in finding out what I really wanted out of my life. Without this sudden risky step….I may have still be “clueless” about what I really wanted in my own life.
Part of life is going through experiences as an individual whether it is good or bad. For example, if we want a better, paying job in the near future….you would need to successfully finish college in order to accomplish that goal. Right? “Working hard” can mean anything…to earn good grades in college to get into graduate school, working a number of years as a bartender to become a “lead” bartender, going to professional make-up artistry school to become a “make-up artist,” attending dance classes to perfect your dancing skills….and the lists goes on…and on. At the same time, you also want to put some of your “precious” time aside to “play hard” too. Have you ever thought about that folks?
Personally, I love to “work hard” towards achieving my goals, dreams, and accomplishments. Don’t you? It is not much to ask of yourself to push yourself very hard in order to hopefully be “rewarded” in the end with something much more “special” or “sweet” for yourself in return. Now….I definitely love that idea and concept! Who doesn’t want to be “rewarded” for a hard-work well done? I sure do! I believe we all do.
Both of my loving parents are hard-working individuals. As a small girl, my parents have “conditioned” me with the idea of working hard in life and….playing hard as well. I still remember what they have told me. It is an amazing advice that I will always keep as part of my life’s journey. My parents who have both demonstrated strong, “work-ethics” have truly made me “respect” and “love” them so much more. They have done A LOT and SACRIFICE many things in order to keep me happy. As their loving daughter, I have always been “blessed” with amazing parents who work extremely hard, but at the same time, learned how to play hard along with enjoying their beautiful life.
So folks….remember that saying…”Work hard, play hard!” This powerful, “kick-ass” statement will truly help you through your life’s journey. Even if you are going through tough times in life, it is always good to pick yourself off the ground and work harder and of course, playing hard.
