Since when is a tank-top and jeans considered a uniform for prostitutes?

Girl in Tank TopSince when did a tank-top (no cleavage and definitely with a bra) and nice jeans and flip-flops become a hooker's uniform? I was at a used car-lot today having a gander walking back to my car with a friend when I entered the danger zone. A man, not that old, not that young, drove past and zoned in on my breasts and made me feel dirtier than I have in years.

Granted the neighborhood was not so nice......without giving away my exact location, I can say that it is home to more than one strip-club and was known for street-walking before Craig's List made it unnecessary for prostitutes to troll the streets. But, somehow, with that one look, I felt dirty. To use the word from a book I'm reading, Cruddy. Really, really cruddy.

So, what gives? Am I being over-sensitivo? Is leering ok in this day and age when even pre-teens dress like Britney Spears? Is a tank-top in 80 degree weather over-the-top? I literally covered up my girls, which I have never been tempted to do before. The leer of a letch is disturbing to say the least and it really was just a look. I do think, though, that the same type of man that looks at women like meat (perhaps prime rib or a juicy steak) is the type to tear through a woman like they would a burger.
