What Can you Really Tell about a Guy Based on His Facebook Profile?

Facebook ProfileGlamour magazine, which is basically an acceptable version of Cosmo magazine, but without all the sex tips, recently had an article letting women know how to tell what a man really wants based on his Facebook profile.  Apparently some woman now has the job of being a Facebook profile expert and I have to wonder if she got her degree at Harvard for that or whether she simply just took a certificate program at BU-Bullshit University.

Regardless of her qualifications and for what it is worth (or not), here is some of her advice.

If he posts drinking pictures on his web site and he is of a certain age (I believe that she mentioned specifically if he was old enough to know 80’s tv shows), he might not be ready for a relationship. WTF? A 30-something who drinks beer might not be ready for a relationship, but I really doubt whether this is a determining factor in whether he wants a relationship or not.

Next, she warns that a man might be a little sketchy if he has too many pictures of he and his dog. OK......hmmmmm.... is this because we all know that every woman is secretly jealous of her boyfriend’s dog because they are the only true love a man can have? In my opinion, if a guy has a lot of pics of his pet, it shows that he has a capacity to love.

Some of her advice is so obvious it begs the question of why she feels the need to share it. For example, she warns women that someone who whines a lot in their Facebook status might be an actual whiner. Oh, do you really think so? Whatever gave you that idea? Come on, we are not as stupid as you think.  Other rather obvious advice includes the warning that a profile picture with a hot woman might  be a sign that he is actually in a relationship or hoping for a relationship with a specific person. Again, thanks for the advice, but I really think we can guess that kind of stuff for ourselves.....right?

And, for the guys with few friends, she would like to remind us ladies that this more than likely means that he is a loyal person to a select few friends. How on earth would she know this? Maybe the guy is just a loser with no friends. Who really knows anyway?
