The Surprise Wedding or the True Story of How One Bride Trapped Her Boyfriend into Marrying Her
WeddingHere comes the Groom, Here Comes the Groom. I'd like to share with you the following tale of how to force a reluctant boyfriend into taking a stroll down the aisle with you.....
Recently in England, perhaps to get her wedding-shy man to the altar once and for all or perhaps to prevent the marital equivalent of dine and dash, Gemma, 29, planned a surprise wedding/30th birthday party for her man, Jamie Crook.
He happily entered a room with 180 people to a loud surprise and smiled, thinking only that he was being treated to a rather large 30th birthday bash. Gemma then gave him the ultimate ultimatum and told him he had 10 minutes to get ready for their wedding and to wait while she changed into her dress. Not only had she put him on the spot in front of 180 guests, she had picked out bridesmaids and even gone so far as to pick out a best man for Jamie.
According to Gemma, Jamie had tears welling up in his eyes and "was utterly speechless". Who wouldn't be? Gemma interpreted the tears as tears of joy, but how she can actually know that for sure? Granted, the couple was together for eleven years and had two kids together, but does that necessarily mean happiness? To me, it sounds more like a bad episode of Punk'd than an actual wedding made in heaven. Likely the only bonus for big Jamie is that he got out of all of the wedding planning, which I'm told is not a particular favorite activity for most men.
