OMG! I must be way behind the times. And, I do mean “behind”. On a recent visit to the Salon, I was perusing a Beauty Magazine and found the perfect lingerie- panties with butt pads or butt lifters! Has anyone ever tried these out? Do they actually work? Are they easy to sit on or do they make Whoopie Cushion noises?

If I put on a pair of butt pad panties will I need to insure them just like J-Lo insures her rump (which she might not actually do)? Or would the pads be so terribly obvious that I would have to take them out mid-day? If the butt bikini pads and panties on this page are any indication, the butt pads won’t really look all that real even underneath the clothing and don’t quite seem to have reached the level of sophistication that you find in a Wonder Bra or a push-up bra. If the current fascination with big-booties continues, the designs just might improve.

What’s even weirder than the Butt Pad Panties (which is a mouthful to say) are the Butt Bras, which are used to support your bodacious bottoms in full fashion. I am not quite sure how the Butt Bras compare to the body-shaping wonders of Spanx, but again, I am guessing that they are not quite up to par. The butt booster garter also looks interesting and the description promises that it works much the same way as a push-up bra.  

Again, most of the products on the page look like the padded, naked body costumes, and not necessarily like sexy pieces of lingerie or even underwear that will actually help all that much.

If you don’t trust my opinion, which is largely uninformed on the issue of butt pads, this site says that Tyra Banks has talked about butt pads on her show and Jessica Simpson has admitted to wearing butt pads. 

Even better, the following videos show Beyonce, who is pretty much known as having one of the top five butts in the world, wearing what the video-makers suspect are butt pads. Beyonce’s booty and butt pads together in the same sentence is near-blasphemy to a lot of people, but it again begs the question: are pads worse than plastic surgery?
